I've meant to perform this act of public service for a long time, but now finally here it is.
If you ever ever come across this individual on the net, do not not fall for his flattering phrases and sweet words. He is a lying predator that will tell you anything he can to win your affection - and it will all lead up to him conveniently landing in your city someday, coercing you to meet him ALONE.
He goes by various aliases: Vishy Poosala, Viswanath Poosala, Navin Pannala. The last name was the one I knew him by. He presented himself as single to me for about two years, when all the time he was married with two kids. I wasted countless hours chatting to him on IM and the phone. He would send me gifts. Books. Clothes. I realize now why when I was choosing them, he would never order them online but insist on going to the store to pick them up first.
Anyway, this online relationship developed. There were many intimate moments. After some months he told me that he was kinda committed to this girl - that he had a girlfriend. But still, he created some doubt that he might leave her. And so the relationship continued. He even pressured me to meet him alone when he was in my town. Thankfully I didn't. When I finally confronted him with his real identity, I never heard back from him again.
Now, this is not your garden variety internet predator. He is CTO at Bell Labs, holds a high profile position, has founded his own ventures etc. So he is not easy to recognize as someone who will manipulate and prey on unsuspecting young women. Hopefully this little expose might ensure that he doesn't deceive anyone else like he did me.
